Bio:

Hello all! My name is Amy Houser and I am first-year graduate student in the LAIS program. My current research aims to shine light upon the experiences of women and children during Cold-War era conflicts and I hope to further investigate how state terror and dictatorship impacted education. I first started researching these topics in my undergraduate years at UCSB with Professor Cecilia Méndez. The interdisciplinary structure of the LAIS program allows me to incorporate multiple fields of study into my research and explore my interests across disciplines.
