Bio:

Hello Everyone! My name is Carol Lizeth Marchante. I am a second year graduate student in the LAIS program. As an undergrad at UCSB, I doubled majored in History and Cultural Anthropology, where my focus in Latin America grew. My interest lies in understanding how the involvement of the Catholic church shaped the identity, culture, and integration of the indigenous into the developing colonies. The LAIS Program offers an interdisciplinary approach allowing their students to work with different disciplines through their graduate studies, a structure that is perfect for my developing research.
