The LAIS Program congratulates Professor Aline Ferreira (Spanish and Portuguese) for the publication of her new book The Routledge Handbook of Translation, Interpreting and Bilingualism, which she coauthored with John W. Schweiter. The book, published by Routledge in 2023, brings together the two fields of bilingualism and translation and interpretation studies to discuss theories and method, as well as all aspects of the development of interpreters and translators and their competences. Prior to this, Professor Ferreira co-authored, also with John W. Schwieter, Introduction to Translation and Interpreting Studies. Published by Wiley-Blackwell in 2022, the book offers an overview of the history and theory of interpretation while examining the different contexts of translation and interpretation and its future in research.
