Congratulations to LAIS graduate affiliate Yuri Fraccaroli (Feminist Studies) for their 2024 Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Innovation Fellowship, which will allow them to pursue their project “¡Archivo vivo! An Ethnography of the Archive: Latin American Sex and Gender Archives.” The project aims to establish a hemispheric genealogy of Latin American queer and LGBTQ+ community archives that incorporates the experiences of dissidences marked by race/sex/gender in these parts of the world, in order to provide an alternative to the Global North-centered perspectives.
